help: veracrypt rescure disk "not ready"

hello.
my laptop crashed and now its booting directly to bios and not to my encrypted system disk (veracrypt bootloader) the ssd does show up in the bios. but when i try to run any command wit the rescue disk it just returns "not ready". does it mean my ssd is completely broken? thanks in advance!
