I am trying to run a protected mode app in vDos. It runs on one PC in our office, but not on another. Both are Windows 10 pro. Could it be video drivers?
The vDos executable dies after I see this from my application:
Initializing Platinum Environment ...
DOS/4G Protected Mode Run-time Version 1.97
Copyright (c) Rational Systems, Inc. 1990-1994
Protected Mode Switch Program for DOS
Version 1.03
(C) Copyright 1982-1995, Btrieve Technologies, Inc.

On my PC, it finishes loading and runs fine, on another, it stops right here with a Windows popup saying vDos - DOS for Windows has stopped working
Thanks,
Jason
Have you tried copying the entire vDos folder from the computer where vDos works correctly to the computer where it doesn't work correctly, in order to make absolutely sure that both computers have the same settings in vDos? Also, copy the folder with the protected mode app.
Well, I'll be dipped! That is very strange, and I am very grateful for your suggestion!
It is running just beautifully.
Thanks,
Jason
