Lockup under GunShip 2000

Seem to be able to get through the menu screens, but
it will lock up in flight after a while. Have only
tried a few times, but seemed to be common just before
a weapon was due to hit a target.
Windows 2000 Service Pack 2
PIII 500 MHz.
384 MB RAM.
Aureal based soundcard with last publically available
drivers.
Running with adLib VDMS module installed and the
correct VDMS.ini in game folder. Launching from the
context menu entry.

If your game/computer just locks up (and you need to reboot
after), then make sure you are using the DirectSound output
modules (!). How exactly have you routed the AdLib and
SB "waveout = ..." outputs ? If routing via two
WaveDevice.WaveOut modules you may run into trouble as soon
as the second module attempts to open the device.

The DirectSound modification has fixed all problems.
