Thanks for asking, I never paid attention to it before.
This affects the method to upsample the rate, high quality is meant to produce a bit less noise.
IMO this option is should be always on and removed.
Anyhow assume the resampling quality is low compared to any decent audio tool.

Thanks. I am sure the quality will be very good at 320kbps mp3 converted from an excellent source. Good luck in the further development of Virtualdub2! I will always use it. Actually, I’ve been using it for about 5 years now.

Thanks!
Sample rate conversion is not typically needed, but it has its own quality concerns - encoding is another thing.

Direct stream copy doesnt' work, when source is AC3.
I have added AC3 inputfilter into plugins32 folder, VD recignizes it, but
VD creates output audio track in PCM format.
Looks like for your input file the right driver should be 'MPEG-2'.
Not sure why it wasn't selected, maybe the file is not compatible.

Thank for our answer. The AC3 direct stream copy is working in Virtualdub 1.10.4. I tested 32 bit and 64 bit version, both of them are working well. I often use this method, becasue I've got a Panasonic Hr280 camera, that records in MPEG2 video format and in stereo AC3 audio format. I use virtualdub for cutting my recorded videos. It is not worth converting AC3 audio track to another format when cutting videos. In virtualdub 1.10.4, I use "MPEG-2 plugin by fccHandler" for my MPEG2 format videos and I use "AC-3 plugin by fccHandler" for AC3 input. As I mentioned above, there plugins work correctly in Virtualdub 1.10.4.
In virtualdub2 direct stream copy doesnt' work correctly, when source is AC3 ( I use "AC-3 plugin by fccHandler" ), VD2 creates output audio track in PCM format.
