#156 GNUstep and v1.20.14.0

Something between v1.20.9.0 and 1.20.14.0 seems to have broken GNUstep. When any app opens, it flickers repeatedly and won't function at all.

I am running GNUstep under WSL 1.0 / Debian 11. I am not running the Debian GNUstep packages (which are very old). I am running the latest GNUstep code from their github.

I just checked out the VcXsrv source tree and am going to attempt a git bisect and see if I can figure out which commit broke things. Will report back.

I am having similar problems with intellij running inside wsl2 with the latest version of vcxsrv, see

Reverting to v1.20.9.0 is a workaround for me.
