[Vcftools-help] Calculation of "NOVELTY" field in vcf-contrast

I was hoping you could clarify which parameters are used to calculate the “NOVELTY” field in the VCFtools contrast feature. My understanding is that it reflects the confidence of the parent sample being different from the child, but I wanted to know specifically what the numerical value of this field means and how it is calculated.
