I want Detachable and dockable windows inside my main
window, with a fstToolbarBorder style border.

I've got news on this one, good and bad.

The good news is that in the bluesky (the test ground of new
vcf tech) there is ViewMaker. This seems to be a dockable
windows manager.

The bad news is that ViewMaker isn't compiling anymore (did
some test at the beginning of the summer)

Because this is something I need for my own project, I will
work on this and try to make this working.
