Mono is an attempt to write a .NET framework for Linux, including a C# compiler and .NET Runtime classes, and it also include a VB.NET extended compiler, called Mono Basic. Now that we have this on Linux, i wonder it's really necesary to make VB6 clone, keeping in mind all the things that this involved. In case you decide to go ahead with this project, a good start point would be the Mono Basic Compiler it's fully object oriented with a good sintax.
