Last week IBM Research released their Full System Simulator for the PPC970= =20 (http://www.alphaworks.ibm.com/tech/systemsim970) to Alphaworks (http://www.ibm.com/alphaworks). I've been using this simulator to help debug and regress v9fs for the past year and it has really helped my development cycle. I know several of you have expressed frustration with some of the nastier v9fs bugs taking down your system during development - this is a great tool to help solve that problem. The one catch is you'll have to build a cross-dev environment (unless you happen to be on a Linux PPC64 system). There are scripts and instructions for setting up cross-development environments included with the packages on alphaworks. I've compressed my standard v9fs regression disk image and put it on texas.9grid.us. 9grid.us uses sources.cs.bell-labs.com as its authentication domain, so you should be able to use either v9fs or drawterm to get access to it. It's in /usr/ericvh/images/v9fs_disk.img.gz and its about 640MB. It has a complete gentoo ppc64 disk image including plan9ports, u9fs, fsx, postmark, and bonnie. -eric |
