I can't get hw accel working with the last glx snapshot (02/28). Maybe I did something odd in the compile options ? I haven't updated for quite a long time and it's the 1st time I use the new "unified" drivers in which I don't specify -chipset=nv or -chipset=tnt. Seems quite simple since there is no DMA, AGP and so on with Tnt cards, but I could have missed something... Anyway the glx module is correctly loaded and my card seems to be detected: glx_debug.log says sth like "using TNT driver (no direct rendering)" but when using GL apps the X output says "### creating new xmesa context for sw" and glx_debug.log always claims "GL_VENDOR: Brian Paul", no Riva anywhere, either in 16 or 32 bpp. (and of course it's very slow). Is XFree 3.3.6 required ? (I use 3.3.5) Or are my Mesa sources too old ? (I use Mesa 3.2dev from the beginning of jan) I don't think it's conflicting libs since I'm used now to switching between versions and everything seems OK with ldd. So I'm back to my older (01/07) module and it works again (in 16bpp), but what should I do to get the last module to work ? My config: Celeron 300@460 TNT2 ultra 32 Mb Suse 6.1 XF3.3.5 (suse rpm) Mesa3.2dev (2000/01/08) egcs 1.1.2 Thanks Denis |
