Finding uml terrific for our bachelors degree teaching plans at our polytechnic
college here in New Zealand.
Planning on building a virtual network lab using it on a single server. Each
student will have three uml machines - one configured as router. Have tried
configuring this (on a one student basis so far and only on my old 64M Ram home
computer)-it works fine running uml_router <different_sockets> twice to create
two virtual subnets. The uml router has eth0, eth1 and eth2. This allows us
to give it one connection to each uml_router "switch" virtual subnet plus one
connection to the host OS via the tap device and to the rest of our LAN via
the host's single real ethernet card. Everthing working seemlessly. Thanks
for all your efforts - uml certainly has lots of uses and future potential.
