When the virtual net is sucking packets more or less straight off the ethernet, the host has no chance to do firewalling or masquerading, is that it? That sounds like a good argument not to even switch the umn driver from slip to ethertap. If we have a ethertap-based virtual net and a slip-based point-to-point connection to the host, does that leave any functional holes, like masquerading non-ip protocols? Jeff |
