Thanks.  It compiles fine now.  I assumed that you had to build uml like a
regular kernel but I guess not.  

If you follow the steps in section 2.2 of the HOWTO, it tells you to build
the uml kernel from /usr/src/linux though.  I guess this information is
wrong for RedHat distributions?
