Looks good.  A few queries:

- Is there a reason you make the ext2 filesystems prior to running the
  installer?

- Did you not hit the problem with the installer not being able to find
  any kernel modules?

I prefer to use the fakeide/fakehd stuff because other distributions'
installers are not so clued up when it comes to ubd devices, and using
fakeide/fakehd universally makes admin easier.
