Hello Cone The cowfs is the new COW file for the existing share root_fs. I think the COW file will be created by the driver if it doesn't exist. SO after I run the UML and which fails: > wc cowfs 0 0 0 cowfs ls -l -rw-r--r-- 1 gshankar people 0 Nov 6 09:31 cowfs AND for root_fs >wc root_fs 359513 1915884 104857600 root_fs gshankar@moretti:~/src/uml/manet/linux-2.4.22$ ls -l root_fs -rwxrwxrwx 1 gshankar people 104857600 Nov 6 09:23 root_fs* The file system works fine with the 2.4.18 kernel. But when I built for the 2.4.22 kernel I'm having this problems. I don't know What mistake I'm doing. Thanks Gowri --- "J.
