    I can't login. Host system is RedHat 7.1 w/ its 2.4.2-2 kernel.

    [root@onelesscar user_mode_linux]# type linux
    linux is hashed (/usr/bin/linux)
    [root@onelesscar user_mode_linux]# rpm -qa|grep user_mode
    user_mode_linux-2.4.12.1um-0
    [root@onelesscar user_mode_linux]# ls -l roo*
    lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           23 Oct 19 21:55 root_fs -> root_fs_tomrtbt_1.7.205
    -rw-r--r--    1 root     root     15728640 Oct 19 23:04 root_fs_tomrtbt_1.7.205
    [root@onelesscar user_mode_linux]# linux
    .
    .
    .
    console tomsrtbt login: root

    The default "root" password is "xxxx",
    edit /etc/passwd to change it, or edit
    settings.s to change it permanently...

      Put 'devfs=nomount' on the command line.
