uml_switch from tarball 20020407 and kernel 2.4.18-15 won't work together. the switch daemon only get 00:00:00:00:00:00 as ethernet address from the kernels.

Can you say how exactly they don't work and exactly how you see them not working. I just checked, and uml_switch seems to be fine.
