I went to three RS stores yesterday and picked up some of these. One store had just got a new shipment of them on Friday - the version number of the scanners has increased - 070A. I can't see any difference in packaging or on the board. Anyone noticed if this is a firmware update or anything? I know UPC EAN does not have all it's digits - could this be a fix?

It is not a fix for UPC-E. Darn.
