This is likely off topic, but im wondering is there a possibility to use the cuecat for survey scanning?
I would like to create a survey that several hundred people would be responding to and I havn't found any free/open scanners other then barcode scanners, and the cuecat is the cheapest and easiest to hack from what i've seen :).
Anybody know how one would go about making a simple true/false survey that could be scanned with barcodes, or is there any other technology that I could use (inexpensive, prefabley)? The best idea I have is to create a True/False barcode for each question and just run down the list and scan from the box the person filled in, but could there be an easier way?

Anyone know about CueCat + Palm III ? Seems like a reasonable combo. Don't know how this compares to barpoint products for Palm. Also, since the cue uses kbd cable, don't know how hard it would be to adapt to the Palm serial port instead.
