#2383 Remote stops working when loader starts

Moved across country, months later hooked up Wii with hard drive, CD in drive works, I click USB Loader icon beside DISC and click start button for USB Loader GX, As soon as it starts loading loads to the screen (image attached) the curser dissapears and remote doesnt work. Person I got it from says "dont know, you have to google it. Tried saving latest update from this site,,, unzipped into SD card APP folder and same thing happens. Can anyone help, please !!
