I know this issue has been discussed before, but I don't think any reporters have adequately explained the request or the difference between USB Loader GX's behavior and their expectations.
A small minority of Wii games do not natively support 480p display; if the system is set to 480p, the game will ignore this and drop back to 480i. Some loaders, such as cfg-loader and Wiiflow, are able to (attempt to) force these games to run in 480p. From the user's end, this is achieved by first setting the "video mode" to progressive, and then "video mode patching" to "all". This is quite a reliable process, and none of the games I've tried to force to 480p have had issues.
Some example 480i-only games for testing: Counter Force (USA), Crazy Climber Wii (Japan), Furu Furu Park (USA), Simple 2000 Series Wii Vol. 1: The Table Game (Japan).
Among the video mode options in USB Loader GX are "force PAL 480p" and "force NTSC 480p", but these appear not to do anything on games such as these which do not support 480p by default. What seems to be meant by these "forcing" options is that the game be launched as if the System Menu were set to this setting, as opposed to actively controlling the games' video mode.
What I and I believe others have been alternately requesting or reporting as a "bug" (presumably due to misunderstanding the meaning of the "force" video options), is that the "video mode _patching_" setting (with options such as "normal", "more", "all") be added to USBLGX, separately from the "video mode" setting ("system default", "disc default", "force PAL50") which the loader already features.
Sorry for longwindedness; thanks for the great loader.
What revision of USB Loader GX are you using? (exact number, don't say
"latest")
[r1213], IOS 249 version
On what operating system (IOS/Firmware/System)?
d2x v10 beta 52, System Menu 4.1E

I can't confirm any of these personally, but here's some further example titles which I've found online being described as 480i-only:
Anubis II, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Bomberman Land Wii, Dave Mirra BMX Challenge, G1 Jockey Wii, Happy Feet, Kororinpa: Marble Mania, Metal Slug Anthology, Rampage: Total Destruction, Rayman Raving Rabbids (USA; PAL version has 480p), Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent, Trauma Center: Second Opinion.

Thanks for the game list.
I have only Mad World which is 480i-only.
I'll do some tests when I have time, but I don't promise to work on it quickly. Sorry to be slow.

In [r1216] I added a new Video patching menu to patch internal dol's video modes.
Set the setting to Enabled or All to force the game to use your selected video mode.

Double Agent (PAL version) can be forced to output in 480p.
