Ok, I am using MHT (RMHE08), have a US wii patched up to 4.3... not the newer 4.3.1 patch (as I call it) that was recently released.
I can play the game just fine but when I went to download an ocarina file, it froze the settings menu, now every time I go to usbloader setting menu for this title, it will freeze up every time. It will only make a sound one time on each of the buttons and the mouse-over highlight effect also shows only once and then every button becomes unresponsive until restart (unplugging the wii).
Even though I can't access the settings menu for this game I still can for other games. Help?

A video documenting the problem as well.

you said it started when downloading ocarina.
maybe your cheat or setting file is corrupted, so when it tries to access it the loader is freezing.
did you try deleting the cheat file (the .txt and/or the .gct) on your SD/USB for that game?
Did you try reseting the settings for that game?
if you can't reset the settings from the loader, you can edit the file in a text editor on your computer, in the game setting config file, look for the gameID and delete the line (or fully delete the game config file, but you'll have to re-set all your games)

hmm well interestingly when I deleted the cheat file for it, it decided to let me use the menu again.
Until I tried to redownload ocarina codes at which point it became unresponsive again.
Maybe it has something do with the size of the cheat file? I noticed it was about 2.5 MB and there was no .gct created for the game.

I have the PAL version, so it's downloading cheatcode for RMHP08
There are indeed a lot of codes in the file, but it's not freezing for me.
The PAL has 3001 codes, while the NTSC-U has 33655 codes and is 2MB text file.
I downloaded the USA cheatcodes from the website and renamed the file to RMHP08.txt
When I load the Ocarina menu the loader is freezing too (but only if I click on the Ocarina button, not when going to the setting without clicking on Ocarina button), And the cheat list displayed after ~1min!
Just be patient, the file is very big and long to load ;)
I suggest you go to geckocodes website and "add" only the codes you want, then generate the gct file online.
Status: Done
