System Menu 3.3U
USB Loader GX version 899
using CIOS222 v4 (CIOS38 merged with 37)
also have cIOS249 (based on IOS38) rev17 - Installer

I'm not sure if this is a problem with my (slow) USB drive, but it seems to
be a bug that i can workaround.  My drive is a Aluratek 'tornado' 2.5"
120GB bus powered drive (not sure what the actual HDD manufacturer is).
WBFS file manager has no problem with the drive.  GX can't load the drive
with IOS249 because it is "too slow" so I'm using the latest CIOS222 noted
above.

Problem: GX will crash when i pan my list of games in cover flow mode, or
crash when i hover over a game in list view that is 6 or so titles down.
The crash does not show any error codes, it just makes the screen colors
garbled for a second, then returns me to the homebrew channel.

I can work around this issue by using the search function, and every game
in my library can be selected after narrowing the search by at least one
character.  (possibly because there are less games listed after filtering
by a letter)  It makes me think that the number of total games visible is
causing the glitch. the most games i have listed for a single letter is 3,
which are all displayed fine, and can be selected once the first letter is
entered into the search.

I can get the glitch in both list mode, and cover flow mode, if i start
panning through the list.

Also, not sure if this is a different bug or not, but sometimes when i try
to open GX i get the black screen, and my wii required a hard reboot.

I have another wii with system menu 4.0 and i don't have any of these
issues with that wii, in fact it works flawlessly.

How is your driver formated - wbfs/ntfs?

Have you used the built-in cover download feature? It is my experience that cover
downloads regularly fails, thus creating incomplete images, that GX is unable to handle
    (i.e. crashes).

oh, good point.  I copied my covers from the SD card on my other wii (for which i
used the built in cover downloader on an older version of GX.) I'll try clearing out
the covers folder and re-downloading them.

    Thanks!

Comment 3: That might be the reason. I suggest using Wii Game Manager
    (http://gbatemp.net/index.php?

downloading covers. Us it to load the wbfs partition on you drive, and select download
all missing covers. Then copy the images to the sd card. This is currently the method
    i'm using.

i downloaded all new covers using the wii game manager, and dropped them into the
SD:/images folder and i still have the same problem.  None of the images are
corrupted or partially missing like issue 1220 suggests.

I seem to be having a similar problem with the scrolling of the games.  After
scrolling on whatever view I use I get a dump screen.  If I remove the SD card with
no images it works fine.  I've read other post that mention it being possibly a bad
image.  How can I go about finding out which image is causing the problem and where
can I download the correct image or images.  I'm downloading directly to the SD card
using USB Loader.  Is there any other way to download images and put the on the SD card.

As comment from JonGif I'm having the same problem. Have tried custom covers and the
downloaded ones from WiiTBF but despite them all being okay Gx crashes. None of the
covers are corrupt and it happens exactly as JonGif says. Having to run it without
covers at the moment. Despite this, great kit!!
