US Septic Contractor License Stats 2026

Open dataset compiled by The Septic Guide: aggregate counts of 28,546 septic service providers in 44 states + DC, how many (27,065) are matched to official state license or certification lists, the issuing agencies and license types behind those matches, county counts, and each state's licensing rules (state vs. local licensing, whether a public roster exists) for all 50 states + DC. Note: the match rate reflects how the directory was sourced from state rosters; it is not a compliance rate. 15 jurisdictions have listed providers but zero matches because no statewide roster exists or was loaded.
