When you connect a URG sensor of USB type in Windows10/11, automatically the default USB serial device driver is installed.
USB serial device (COM3) is installed in the example below, It is the device driver that the URG sensor communicates with.

The name of the driver does not become the URG,. However, it is still possible to use as it is.
Therefore, installing the URG driver is not always necessary.

If the URG driver is installed, in URGBenri the (URG) mark is attached to COM3,
If the standard USB serial device driver is installed, COM3 only would appear,.
In order to show the (URG) mark added to the device name, the URG driver should be installed.
The standard procedure is essentially the same for both Windows 10 and Windows 11.
As for Windows 8, to install the URG driver, it is need to disable driver signature enforcemen.
The procedure is as follows.
1. Open the "Settings" from the Start button on the desktop

2. Open the "updates and security" on Windows10, or the "system" on Windows11 from setting screen

3. Select the "recovery" in the update and the security screen (Windows10) or the system screen (Windows11), and then click on "restart now"

4. Click the "Troubleshooting" button in the options screen

5. Click the "Advanced Options" in troubleshooting screen

6. Click "Startup Settings" in the Advanced Options screen

7. Click the "restart" in the startup setting screen

8. After restarting, Press F7 key when the startup setting screen shows up

9. After restarting, the PC would be ready with Driver Signature Enforcement option disabled
