Is it safe to use UPX With Windows Mobile (Windows CE 5.x or higher)? If not, please just consider to disable the compression of files for such devices, at least as long as it does not work.

I've got a WM5.0 device, and i get lots of errors with "CantUnpackException: file is possibly modified/hacked/protected; take care!" messages when i try to manually unpack them. The programs seem to work right in the device, but i'd like to be sure that i'll get no problems in the future.

    Hi,

AFAIK wince 5.x should be fine. There are known problems with 6.x and DLLs.
Do you see the error message for the files you've compressed before yourself? Or are they just some 3rd party files?

    Hi László,

I've just tried to pack and then unpack some files, without even copying them to my PDA, and i get CantUnpackException errors. I include sample files; you can ask for more if you need them.
