I use the current Java version 1.8. I had problems with the JRE, so I installed the JDK (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html).

I was not able to reproduce your problem under Yosemite. Have you installed a current version of Java from https://www.java.com/en/ ?

Please try version 2.0.0-alpha1 and use the new cling library. Just select Cling in the options and re-connect.
