Hello Andy,

I'm sorry for late reply, for some reason I never got a notification 
from the mailing list.

I'm not handling packaging of unixcw for any distribution, so I cannot 
tell which package version is / will be available for Ubuntu 13.10.

Unfortunately I don't know what could be the cause of your problem with 
dahs, perhaps you could try the most recent version of unixcw (3.4.1) - 
maybe the problem is fixed there.
