Pursuant to my previous help discussion, i have managed to get chinese working in my unicenta. As of not i have hit another brick wall and hope someone here could help.
Now i've the printer attached via usb. I've installed the printer in the control centre as EPSONPRINTER. test print on linux mate comes out fine.
So when i select the printer as "printer-> EPSONPRINTER" the receipt prints out with a high margin on the left. (attachment top picture) but chinese can be seen.
When i select the printer as epson->file-> /dev/usb/lp0, it prints out perfectly, only problem is the chinese characters become questions marks. (attachment 2nd and 3rd picture)
If i type echo "hello" /dev/usb/lp0 it prints out, but when i type echo "饭“ /dev/usb/lp0 it comes out other chinese words, not "饭”.
I'm using a printer, Epson TM-T81, as of my printer configuration, (power off, press and hold feed and power on) i can see that i can print simplified chinese.
I'm kinda at my wits end. been googling for the past few days and still no way to solve.
Hi ricky, i have managed to solved most of the problems i faced in unicenta. now my printer prints the characters well. i decided to use windows instead of linux. linux is great and fast but epson pos printers does not seems to have much support. now my system the product catageories are square boxes but the sales screen shows the products in chinese. I saw you have put dual language in unicenta and i wonder how did you come about doing that.

I tried ways and means over the past few days but to no avail. Wasted money on buying the POS printer. I gonna get another one and try and i almost ran out of paper. Thanks RickyO. I also tried the FIFO solution but i do not know where to add the bash Script

I am not sure about Linux, but you might check on page 10, about X & Y settings on receipts, in the attached Hardware Installation Guide.
