I've been tasked with finding a POS system for a restaurant/venue, and this looks like a good fit. Is it still actively maintained? I notice there hasn't been a software update in quite a while. Thank you.

The website is the very reason for the question. It appears that v4 was first released in 2016, with the last v4 version (4.6.4) released in December of 2021 at the same time a beta for v5 was announced. That's according to the last entry in the "News" section of the website - dated 2021. So it appears the latest version is over 2 years old and v5 has been in beta for over 2 years, for a product that prior to 2021 was receiving regular updates once or twice a year. So was v5 ever released to the paying customers? Are paying customers still on v4.6.4? I've got 4.3.2 running on a Windows machine but I don't want to recommend an orphaned product to my customer.
Hi @nokomis449 - 5.0 is due to be released at the end of this month. The 5.0 BETA was released end of 2021 so its just over a year since that release. We release the latest versions to uniCenta subscribers and sourceforge gets the release 1 version behind. It has taken an unusually long time to get 5.0 out the door and that due to a major overhaul of a big part of the codebase and our APIs. Once 5.0 is out the door we'll go back to a more regular release cadence with an emphasis on integrations with our web API's and other 3rd parties.

Thank you very much for the reassuring reply and apologies for my incorrect math - it's not my forte. I'll be demo'ing the free version of uniCenta to the client over the weekend and look forward to hearing about 5.0 soon.
uniCenta oPOS is a great tool. Hope everything is fine now.
