From your description it sounds like you have another program that prevented the mp3 file association from being changed. We've noticed this behavior with several popular media players (such as WinAmp). So the only solution is to make sure all other media players are closed and then try to re-associate mp3 files with UMP.

Regardless of file associations, you can always right click a media file and from the context menu choose "Open with -> UMPlayer Media Player"

I tried right clicking  a mp3 file, and choosing "Open with" UMPlayer.exe.

    That does not work period.

Don't know why it doesn't work. Can someone help me out here ?

I find drag 'n' drop can be a li'l buggy at times Nobody, it's fine 90% of the time tho. If it is a time when it's buggy, make a folder with the sounds you want to play and use the directory selector to add all the files at once. Oh bless bud, don't know why there was no sound tho, that ain't happened to me. Any chance you might have done something in settings/filters?

You got me checking that one Lassar2, it worked for me tho so sadly i can't offer advice cos i can't replicate the prob. Seriously hope you and Nobody can sort your issues, it's such a good media player this early in it's development. Audio quality is so good.
