Do not consider this as a feature request, it's more
like a debug info.

I recently installed VistaRC1 build5600 to check it
out and Ultrastar run really slowly on my 400 song
package, exactly like 0.4.1 did before the 0.4.2
release.

Anyway this is just for your info corvus5, thank again
for the great work you put into this wonderful piece
of software ;)

    "Ultrastar run really slowly"

This is because Windows Vista does not have OpenGL a board.
Currently nVidia has OpenGL implemented in their current beta driver for Windows Vista.
ATI (AMD) doesn't haven an OpenGL Implementation in their driver for Windows Vista yet.

Because of not using hardware accelarated openGL everything is calculated by the CPU. This even
doesn't run smoothly on my AMD Athlon 64 4000+ Processor when I'm not having an OpenGL Graphic Driver
installed. Try installing the current nVIDIA BETA for Windows Vista.

I have installed the final Version. With the standard drivers, the game runs really slow. After installing the Nvidia Beta Drivers it runs very smoothly. I haven't done benchmarks yet, but will do this soon. But form the gaming experience I would say, that it runs just the same as under XP. But I think, that when new and optimized drivers come out, the game will run even better. So wait, until the Hardware-Producers have the proper drivers, then it will run smoothly.

One Bug I have found: When quitting a song, the last played half second repeats 2 times and after that the Highscore appears. Seems to have something to do with the buffer, that is repeated 2 times before getting cleared.

But well. I wait for final drivers for my Soundcard an write again, then.

    Bye

Game runs smooth as long as there are OpenGL drivers installed.
