Hello:
Release of HoT-1.2.4 is imminert and it has alsa sound support.
You can see cvs if you want. (you also can get a cvs snapshot
from the homepage -> changelog link.) As for the sequencer,
it was among things I planned for 1.2.4 first, but posponed
for a
future release for now. Being not exepienced on that, do I not
need timidity as a fallback for non-mpu401 cases?
PS: I moved this to the feature requests, where it suits
more, I beleive ;)

no, alsa can be configured to use timidity+ as
alsa-sequencer-port
its not your job as developer, it's the users job to
configure his alsa-sound-setup the right way ;)
