When shadows are turned on in the options menu trees that are on a non-flat surface have their shadows hovering in the air off the ground.
This is seen in the very first level once you exit to the first outside area with the sheep and the two green bow enemies.
I compared this against another port "UQE" and it does not occur there.
Shadows in quake1/2 engines are primitive: hexen2 is using a modified quake1 engine and suffers from that. No plans in foreseeable future to fix that.
Didn't look at uqe for it, maybe I will.
For what it's worth, uqe has the shadows disabled too.
