UbuntuDDE Remix

Beautiful elegant distro that is badly let down by lack of support. Regular Ubuntu forums won't support and redirect to DDE forums. I raised a support query via Discord and Reddit on the Official DDE support channels and gave up after being ignored for 6 days, including follow up requests. That was on both channels. So unless you have the technical skills to fix issues yourself, best avoided. Very sadly, after many happy months I have reluctantly had to dump this distro as I cannot have it not working for a week whilst I am ignored on multiple channels

ISO checks out with md5sum but there are a few idiosyncrasies. I use English language with a Canadian French Keyboard. To install this keyboard, I have to switch language to French, then choose the keyboard, and then switch the language back to English. The demo mode would not accept my keyboard choice, and was very flaky about selecting another language. It also would not accept a logout. I had to do a forced reboot. The ISO is in need of more work, and in particular, more testing. My environment, 8 core Linux box with 16 gigs ram, and a SSD, empty and waiting for me to do the installation.

Promising distro but lacking in a real community + dev forum interaction! I hope the devs become more active on the forum, because it's still very quiet on there at the moment. I f the distro matures some more it will really become good, it still has bugs here and there but i hope they will be resolved soon. Will increase the rating if community + dev forum support becomes better.

I have been longing for an external version of DDE (leasy version for ubuntu is outdated) and was thrilled when I heard of Ubuntu DDE. I first installed it in Virtualbox but it turned off the "window effects" everytime I closed a window or a dialog box. Then I installed it in VMware player where it works flawlessly. Even though the latest beta seems stable enough I will wait until it is out of beta before I install it on hard drive as my main distro.

The live version work quite (or perfectly) good on a old computer, the windows effects do not slow the interface as they can sometime do on Deepin OS. Need to fix the dark mode on file manager. Some Deepin applications are missing to go with the interface. But it is good to have the Ubuntu appstore which is more provided and updated than deepin os. This operating system could become one of the most used with its interface and its Ubuntu base.
