I realize that it is unlikely that you have two bad boards (and bad in
similar ways), but I still want you to thoroughly test the hardware
using the factory test procedure I sent you.  I think it is important to
rule out hardware failures before assuming there is something wrong on
the host side.  I have had a few intermittent boards slip by me, and it
wouldn't be surprising for such a board to behave differently with the
various host application.

If you are unable or don't want to perform the test, we can swap boards
and I'll test them myself.
