Have you also tried a bttv card in the same system with a good framerate? What video card are you using? Here are some (but not all) possible explanations: You're using a Radeon 7500 in dual head mode. Your processor is not fast enough to deinterlace to 59.94 or 50fps. There's a problem with the saa7134 driver. It's most likely one of the first two. Try running tvtime with a simple deinterlacer, like Linear Blend (TV full resolution), with the framerate set to 29.97 or 25fps. Also try reducing the input width to something like 640, 540, or 480 with tvtime's "-I" option. To help us solve this, press the D key several times while tvtime is running to print out some deinterlacing stats to the terminal on stderr.
