STRING can be one of: opengl Xv disable with Xv. Some could put a newer error message there. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Chris Brennan (ravensorrow) Date: 2008-02-16 04:01 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=2010700 Originator: NO I have an ATI x300 using the propriatary drivers from portage. /var/log/Xorg.0.log -> http://rafb.net/p/xArrex68.html /etc/X11/xorg.conf -> http://rafb.net/p/oU1JhV11.html Hope this helps, if you need more information, let me know. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2008-02-15 23:36 Message: Logged In: NO What graphics-card are you using (because that's what's causing the problem) and is the tuner on your ati-card? What says your Xorg.0.log? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2008-02-15 15:21 Message: Logged In: NO This thread appears to be a bit old. But I seem to be having something similar for an error. I have an AMD64/X2 4200+ CPU w/ 2GB of ram. I am running Gentoo with kernel: 2.6.23-gentoo-r8. tvtime (and xawtv) seem to want to not want to talk to the device which is a 01:07.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7133/SAA7135 Video Broadcast Decoder (rev d0) I also have a bt878 card and I had only marginally better success with that card. But with both cards I get this error from tvtime, xaero@Leviathan ~ $ tvtime Running tvtime 1.0.2. Reading configuration from /etc/tvtime/tvtime.xml Reading configuration from /home/xaero/.tvtime/tvtime.xml xvoutput: No XVIDEO port found which supports YUY2 images. *** tvtime requires hardware YUY2 overlay support from your video card *** driver. If you are using an older NVIDIA card (TNT2), then *** this capability is only available with their binary drivers. *** For some ATI cards, this feature may be found in the experimental *** GATOS drivers: http://gatos.souceforge.net/ *** If unsure, please check with your distribution to see if your *** X driver supports hardware overlay surfaces. I am using the latest ~amd64 drivers from portage (x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.452). I have drivers for both the Philips and the BT878 card compiled into my kernel. And X works fine in other regards (I am able to play doom3 fine). P.S. I don't remember my sf user/pass. So if someone can e-mail me at xaero at comcast dot net ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Billy Biggs (vektor) Date: 2004-06-23 20:02 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=153320 I think that your capture card driver is misconfigured, but I do not know a lot about the saa7134 driver. If you post the output of 'dmesg' I may be able to give more advice, otherwise I recommend the mailing list vid...@re.... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2004-06-23 19:59 Message: Logged In: NO my PC configure is as fellow: sound card: integerated AC'97 Mainboard: MIS CPU: pentium 4 chipest group:i810 tv card:saa7134 card=3 os :linux kernel: 2.6.6 since i have complied kernel again, error above has been solved, but fellow error message has happend: getmodeline--hdsp:1024 hbeg:0 hend:0 httl:0 vdsp:768 vbeg:0 vend:0 vttl:0 flag:0 xcommon:no window properities found for EWMH Videoinput: can not read frame, error was, input/outpurt error (0) Videoinput: can not read frame, error was, input/outpurt error (0) Videoinput: can not read frame, error was, input/outpurt error (0) Videoinput: can not read frame, error was, input/outpurt error (0) Videoinput: can not read frame, error was, input/outpurt error (0) by the may , i come form chinamaid land, my video card was producted bydemestic company. it is likely that chipest was producted by philip saa7134 card=3 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Billy Biggs (vektor) Date: 2004-06-22 06:16 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=153320 What video card do you have, and which X driver is it using? It sounds like your X server is misconfigured, or your video card is too old or unsupported. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=506987&aid=977247&group_id=64301 |
