If I want to use a joystick with TuxNES, where do I put the configuration instructions that are outlined in the Readme to get TuxNES to recognize it? Is it the command line? Can I use a configuration file and hand it the file? |

CVS head features a vary complete 0.77, but I have not been able to get enuff feedback to make a releas. Also CVS tuxnes-0_75_branch contains a fix for using two joysticks at once and allowes multiple GG codes(0.75 you can only have one). > for the AutoMakeTools, which has Autoconf, and you don't have a binary Did you run ./autogen.sh then ./configure? Last time I built 0.75 I had to change one of the tests in autogen.sh to return true, since ver 2.4.0 was not lessthan 2.8. I don't know why we don't ship ./configure. > for it yet. When trying to use TuxNES .74 binary with SuSE 9.1, I'm trying to figure out how to reassign my buttons on my joystick, and when I go something like --joystick-map=1:b2,b1,b8,b9,a5,a3,b6 , it doesn't recognize that option, though it appears correct according to the Readme. I cannot use .75 as the autoconfiguration doesn't work, even after installing an RPM for the AutoMakeTools, which has Autoconf, and you don't have a binary for it yet. Also, as a related question, may "3" axis has its positive numbers "down", so I'm expecting my man to go down when I hit up once I get my joystick configured. How do I tell it to inverse this axis, so that the negative numbers makes my man go up, as I will be pressing up? |

Functions need not be. "Size of symbol changed" => this may actually be a bug. I've seen this before when some header files aren't included right. Say there is stdbool.h with: typedef bool char #define HAVE_BOOLEAN Say you've got a header tuxtype.h with #ifndef HAVE_BOOLEAN # define bool int #endif struct var { bool p, q; }; extern struct var var; Now you have one tuxtype.c file: #include <stdbool.h> #include "tuxtype.h" struct var; and another func.c file: #include "tuxtype.h" int func() { var.p = TRUE; var.q = FALSE; } now func() will completely not work because it thinks bool is an int, whereas in the declaration in tuxtype.c it is a char. This is almost impossible to track down. But it _could_ give an error message like the one you have above. The solution of course is that <stdbool.h> must be included in tuxtype.h. I think leaving the extern declaration out of the variable may give an error, but it shouldn't be the one you got... jason |

For functions maby not, however this is what I got... /usr/bin/ld: Warning: size of symbol `emulators' changed from 44 in controller.o to 132 in emulator.o /usr/bin/ld: Warning: size of symbol `renderers' changed from 36 in controller.o to 252 in renderer.o /usr/bin/ld: Warning: size of symbol `sounders' changed from 28 in emu.o to 84 in sounder.o So things that are extern should stay(and be) extern. --- Jason Dorje Short <jd...@us...> wrote: > Mike Mestnik wrote: > > I saw in, for example, ziploader.h that the function def didn't use > the > > extern flag. I saw in, for example, ziploader.h that the function def didn't use the extern flag. The function was used in emu.c and defined in ziploader.c. I was wondering if programs need to use extern at all, since there not exporting anything once linked? Is it worth removing this flag globaly for tuxnes? __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail - Helps protect you from nasty viruses. http://promotions.yahoo.com/new_mail |

I don't get these and it builds fine. stdlib.h for `malloc'. I'm not sure what todo about sound.c:883. I think this is sounder stuff, it should be moved there. These are deffined in sounder_oss.c, that stuff should be moved to sounder_oss.h so it gets included into sounder.c. I'm not really surprised that HEAD dosen't build on 1million systems. I will still concentrate my efforts on the 0.75 branches/tags. If I had access I would post bins/debs thought. --- Jason Dorje Short <jd...@us...> wrote: > When I try to compile cvs HEAD I get > > sound.c: In function `InitAudioCore': > sound.c:305: warning: implicit declaration of function `malloc' > sound.c:305: warning: assignment makes pointer from integer without a > cast > sound.c: In function `ProgressiveSoundUpdate': > sound.c:883: error: `AFMT_U16_BE' undeclared (first use in this > function) > sound.c:883: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once > sound.c:883: error: for each function it appears in.) > sound.c:884: error: `AFMT_S16_BE' undeclared (first use in this > function) > > Looks like there are some missing #includes at least. > > jason > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > SF.Net email is sponsored by Shop4tech.com-Lowest price on Blank Media > 100pk Sonic DVD-R 4x for only $29 -100pk Sonic DVD+R for only $33 > Save 50% off Retail on Ink & Toner - Free Shipping and Free Gift. > http://www.shop4tech.com/z/Inkjet_Cartridges/9_108_r285 > _______________________________________________ > Tuxnes-devel mailing list > Tux...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/tuxnes-devel > _______________________________ Do you Yahoo!? When I try to compile cvs HEAD I get sound.c: In function `InitAudioCore': sound.c:305: warning: implicit declaration of function `malloc' sound.c:305: warning: assignment makes pointer from integer without a cast sound.c: In function `ProgressiveSoundUpdate': sound.c:883: error: `AFMT_U16_BE' undeclared (first use in this function) sound.c:883: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once sound.c:883: error: for each function it appears in.) sound.c:884: error: `AFMT_S16_BE' undeclared (first use in this function) Looks like there are some missing #includes at least. jason |
