I was building the turboVNC RPM from src without the java viewer and failed because it was trying to verify the existence of checkshmpixmaps which is only built if the java viewer is built. Verification should be removed from the native viewer builds unless there is a dependency, in which case it should be built for both viewers.

Please post the specific command lines you are using the build TurboVNC and the specific error message you are getting.
And also the version of TurboVNC you are trying to build.
Ignore my previous comment. I was able to reproduce this in the 1.2.3 code. Fix has been checked into subversion under branches/1.2.x. There was a similar problem in trunk (TurboVNC 2.0) that has also been fixed and checked in. There is not going to be a 1.2.4 release, so you will have to build from subversion branches/1.2.x if you want to build TurboVNC 1.2.x with this fix, or upgrade to the 2.0 version (recommended.)
