Wondering if any one is still out there still helping people with linux questions. Would like to see if there is a chance to revive the group... Regards, Matthew |

For a website contact, Luke Crouch is probably someone you could contact. Although unconventional, I would recommend going the Facebook route. I personally go to the website about twice a year, but I get several emails a day from the Facebook posts. Thanks Tom. I submitted this listing to tulsawebdevs.org early last week. It hasn't posted yet. Any idea who maintains that web site? Hi Mike, Another good resource for contacting PHP developers is the Facebook group "tulsawebdevs". Hi Everyone, I'm in need of a Tulsa-based PHP developer. Could anyone on this list point me to a good place to find such a person (and maybe tulsa-lug is that place)? This is a contract position with potential to to evolve into a long-term role. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable of the LAMP stack, hardware, network administration, ecommerce and web site design. Three years experience with PHP/MySQL is a must, with an emphasis on object-oriented coding and web services, particularly via the SOAP protocol. Beneficial to this position would be experience with bar code readers, a manufacturing environment, and ERP software. I realize this mix of skills is somewhat unique, but this role is with a unique firm. Interested candidates are encouraged to visit www.theorganicbloom.com, a Tulsa-based 18-month old startup that is now shipping its product around the world. The person who fills this role will have an opportunity to contribute to this dynamic company. Inquiries, resumes, etc. back to me please. Regards, Mike Patterson |

Well, I dont know how to fix broken ones, but I don't find taking reasonably modern ones that work. If you have CRT's from the SVGA era or so, I would suggest running them by your local Goodwill. They have a deal with Dell to recycle them for free. On 01/07/2012 08:50 PM, Don Singleton wrote: > I have plenty of CRT monitors you are welcome to. I have a huge cache of mostly obsolete hardware (VGA cards, HDD, IDE galore, CRT monitors, ATX cases, etc) and am wondering if anyone would like anything. I'm thinking about bringing it all somewhere for people to pick what they want, and if they don't want it then I'll send it off to Africa for recycling. I heard about this program in the Tulsa World where someone in town takes our old computer parts and ships them off to the mother land to somehow benefit the less fortunate. I'm all for it but I just don't remember the name of the program. Anyone know anything about that? Anyway, I can bring the stuff to the next meeting if you all would like or somewhere else. I just don't want to throw stuff away when someone somewhere can make good use of it. |

Yes, and there were 8-10 people there. It sounds like you got some bad information. Its always on the last Saturday of the month, at Hardesty Library, at 10 am. The group usually meets upstairs and in/near the last room on the left, but I've seen meetings happen to the right of the libraries front door occassionally. Hope to see you then. There are quite a few gadgets that run Linux. Most popular ebook readers do (Nook, kindle, sony). Media players for the home, wifi routers, etc. Or are you talking about just any gadget that works with / for Linux? I can't easily tell on cacert.org if I am still "active" (by their definition). --df |

The digests on this list were set to "monthly". I've changed it to the normal "daily" mode at the request of one user. If anyone would like it changed to another setting (a good compromise might be "weekly"), please let me know. Tom White |
