07.15.2006 - TPFW 0.3 released; website updated

Just when you thought I was all through with TryPing for Windows, here comes the brand-new version 0.3. As promised earlier, I have added special code to TPFW that allows it to check whether the address entered into the text box actually has a Webpage, thanks to a function called "VerifyURLExists()".

Visual Basic and VB .NET developers can download the source code to TPFW 0.3 to see in depth what I'm talking about.... read more

07.15.2006 - HELP WANTED

I have not had much to do with TryPing for Windows in quite some time now, frankly because I have just found that I cannot maintain this program alone. I need more developers ASAP, who can download the source files for TPFW and submit them to SourceForge.net.

If you're interested in becoming an assistant developer for TryPing for Windows, simply email me at either seto_kaiba_2005@sourceforge.net or donnie126_2002@hotmail.com. I will be happy to assist you.

12.23.2005 -- TPFW v0.3 coming soon

Goodness me... Visual Basic must be tougher than I thought! And so is maintaining this entire TryPing project! Fairly soon, I will be releasing TryPing for Windows version 0.3. I know, I know... you guys are just getting used to version 0.2, right? I feel the same way... but you know what they all say... a developer's work is never done!

But so as to be fair about this entire thing, I'll give end users -- and fellow VB.net developers -- the rest of December, plus the first few days of January, to use TPFW v0.2 and figure out anything that might be wrong with it. Then I'll patch up the source code a bit and come up with TPFW v0.3.... read more

12.01.2005 - TPFW v0.2 coming soon; website update coming up

It's been only eight days since the Grand Release of TryPing for Windows... and it seems that the time is ripe for an update of the project.

Eight days, and already an update is coming? Okay, I know what you're thinking: "You've got to be kidding me!"

Yes, well, I thought so, too. But the truth is, I've just discovered a lot of new Visual Basic .NET stuff that I didn't know before, and I think that the time is ripe to use that new knowledge on TPFW.... read more

12.01.2005 - More source code to come

While working on a second project, I've stumbled upon a source code problem. Turns out that "Form1.vb" and "Form1.Designer.vb" is not enough to constitute a complete Open Source Project as defined by SourceForge.net.

So, time permitting, I will upload more files to the Source Code section of my TryPing project, so that SF.net -- and a lot of TryPing users -- won't have to give me a hard time.... read more

TryPing and its website are LIVE NOW!

It is finally finished!

After about a week of hell trying to tie up loose ends on both my project itself and on its associated website, the TryPing for Windows application, its source code, and its website are all available for TryPing's "Grand Release" now.

I want to thank the guys at Microsoft for giving me both the tools and the help I needed to develop TryPing for Windows and its associated website. I'd also like to thank the guys at SourceForge.net for helping me to publicize both the program and the website.... read more

11.26.2005 - No go from PayPal...

I have just signed up for a PayPal account, but unfortunately, PayPal has given me a "no go" on my debit card. I'll have to wait for January to start posting my TryPing materials.

Okay... just wanted you to know that I have just gotten the go-ahead for TryPing for Windows (which is just a GUI-based, Windows version of DOS's "ping" command), and will start posting all of my related materials immediately.
