When trying to compile for ppc64, the configure script dies with the following:
./configure -q path_to_vi=/bin/vi path_to_sendmail=/usr/sbin/sendmail --prefix=/ --sysconfdir=/etc/tripwire --sbindir=/usr/sbin --libdir=/var/lib --mandir=/usr/share/man
./config.guess: unable to guess system type
This script, last modified 2001-07-12, has failed to recognize
the operating system you are using. It is advised that you
download the most up to date version of the config scripts from
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/config/
If the version you run (./config.guess) is already up to date, please
