If you want to build stuff for Trinux, I would reccomend using the
slackware-7.1 virtual machine available at
http://devel.trinux.org/tde-22sep02.tgz (it is about 170mb, though)
It has all the source libaries for SSL, pcap, Libnet, etc. and it is what
I use to build packages (I assuming I built packages anymore). There is a
README in the tarball.
In the past Slackware-7.1 ISOs have been hard to find and I also upgraded
the version of GCC.
