A couple of questions?
- What type of filesystem are you saving the tar to? If it is ext2
(linux) then you are probably running into the 2GB file limit. I
generally use reiserfs and it is supported in trinux. The kernel module
is available in the linux-fs.tgz package and the tools to create the fs
are in the reiserfs.tgz package
- Which tar are you using. By default trinux uses the busybox tar--which
might have some limitations, not sure. The full GNU tar is in the
fileutil.tgz package.
- mdf
