I just download the trinux-0.80rc2-net.img. The network comes up successfully. I can ping my gateway and I can ping=20 www.io.com/~mdfranz/trinux/pkg, but getpkg just seems to wait for awhile and then time out. No package shows up anywhere. Here is the command=20 I tried: getpkg angst http://www.io.com/~mdfranz/trinux/pkg/ Not sure what to expect from getpkg? Would appreciate any ideas about what could be going wrong! Change a:\tux\config\server on the boot floopy to http://trinux.sf.net/pkg/ or http://the.wiretapped.net/security/operating-systems/trinux/pkg/ It is much faster and complete. - mdf On Wed, Jul 10, 2002 at 11:22:22PM -0700, Randy Walworth wrote: > I just download the trinux-0.80rc2-net.img. Thanks for the tip on the better servers, but I get the same results as before for both: # getpkg bash http://trinux.sf.net/pkg/ (Waits for about 20 secs) # (# sign returns) # ls (shows no bash.tgz) # pkgadd bash bash.tgz not found! What should I expect from getpkg? If it finds the package I requested will it output anything to the screen while it is being downloaded? I can ping http://trinux.sf.net/pkg/. nslookup resolves trinux.sf.net to 216.136.171.201 snarf http://trinux.sf.net/pkg also seems to work fine. I assume that getpkg must do some sort of anonymous login. Could this be failing for some reason? Any help would be greatly appreciated! If I remember correctly, getpkg is a pretty straightforward shell script. Have a look at the script and you can learn what you are doing wrong.
