The days of os on the floppy is a thing of the past for me. None of my machines have a floppy drive. I think I have one in a box somewhere... With that said, using myOS(tm) process we could build the new Trinux; where the core could either fit on a floppy or drop on a cd or flash drive with the rest of packages. A bit of Linux history: Slackware was the first Linux Distro; it came right after the kernel was released. It is still one of the few purest distro left (thank Patrick V. for that). Unchanged source from up-channel. Even using vanilla from Debian it is away from the up-channel. What I am proposing is getting the kernel from kernel.org and the other packages we need from the up-channel unchanged and create bins for the new trinux. Dev version would have source; production would have only bins to save on space. If you have your system set up correctly (sandbox it) you could compile from any distro as long as you set up your dev environment to use the src in the sandbox. I have server space that we could use to house the packages until we are ready to release a myTrinux version on sourceforge. -- Cheers, Robert C.
