I wouldn't see it as a big problem - Slackware or Debian. I think we'll b= e building most of the things from source anyway. Question is - what are we going to build it on? And there I suggest Debian, or any other system wit= h compatible library versions. I have good access to it and AFAIK it is mor= e widely used than Slackware. I've never seen or even heard of a Slackware system in my country. And when I say from souces, I mean vanilla. No SRPM stuff. Do you have some experience with minimalisation? I'm building a MOSIX flo= ppy right now and am running into space problems. busybox is too big, because there are too many unneeded functions. OK, it can be configured manually. But what about GLIBC_2.3? It takes over a megabyte. Making a boot floppy = may be more difficult than 3 years ago. And we MUST load the base system from= a floppy - even if the image is to be burned on CDs and USB sticks. It is university exam time right now, so I am rather busy. I'll start the Trinux-ng project sometime in February, when my exams are over. There won= 't be any trinux-ng.org site - that would cost money and I have nothing to p= ut there yet.
