I use DirectISO from Windows XP to edit the trinux iso file. =20 You should see 2 folders at the root: isolinux and trinux. In the trinux folder, you should see folders bootpkg, kpkg, modules, pkg, and tux. =20 In the tux folder is another folder named config. Within this folder you will find a file named eth0. The contents should be "dhcp" without quotes. I believe this is the file you want to edit. You can replace dhcp with the IP address you want each time you boot -- or -- I believe - you can leave this file empty thus forcing you to manually configure networking each time you use trinux. =20 As for changing your dns server from the command line after the NIC is assigned an address, normally in linux you would edit the /etc/resolv.conf file. This tells the client's resolver who to use. But in the case of trinux, I'm not sure. Perhaps the file named "forward" is used? I don't do much Linux networking, but I have seen some distros where you could type "nameserver x.x.x.x" and manually configure a DNS server. I think. Don't make fun of me if I am wrong, but hey, its worth a try. =20 I will try tomorrow in the lab to see if I can make it work. =20 =20 ---------------------_________________________________________ Stuart R. I have looked through this list and the trinux website, but couldn't find a good answer. There was one thing on the website about deleting a file named dhcp (this would cause the system to prompt for the config), but that was for the boot floppy and I can't find this file on the cdrom iso.=20 =20 2)once the information is entered, how would I go about changing the address of the DNS server? Also, how do I view what I'm server I'm currently using. I know how to change everything else, but can't for the life of me figure out how to do this. =20 =20 Any help would be appreciated. =20 =20 Mike _____ =20 Do you Yahoo!?
