Hmmm...I'm very familiar with CDP....use it on our LAN all the time with an infrastructure of Cisco switches, routers, WAPs, & IP phones. But I'm a curious why you say it would make running a bunch of headless Trinux boxes easier. I should just read up on exacly what cdpdumd actually does, but could you give me a brief explanation of what makes it easier? Can you configure cdpdump to give CDP type information about Trinux boxes to Cisco devices (i.e., if I have a Trinux box directly connected to a Cisco switch, chould I run "show cdp neighbor" and get info about that Trinux box, such as IP address?)
